JMRI: Installing from CD

Instead of downloading and installing JMRI, you can install it from a CD. This will save you the download time, which can be quite long if you don't have a high-speed connection.

Getting a CD

Because JMRI is open source, there is no restriction on people burning and passing out CDs. This means there are lots of approaches to getting a CD.

Perhaps one of your friends has one, and can make a copy. Or a friend with a high-speed connection might be willing to download the files needed for your computer and put them on a CD.

Some DCC dealers will include a JMRI CD with an order, or will sell them separately. Making a connection with a dealer is highly recommended, because we all benefit when the DCC economy stays healthy.
