These are also available in DecoderPro and PanelPro when those are configured for a LocoNet connection, but LocoTools provides them in a easier-to-use way.

JMRI Demo

We've also created a demo program to show the complete set of JMRI tools as they are developed: control and display turnout positions, program decoders, display and control layout power, monitor layout traffic, etc.

The two main differences between this and the preceeding programs are:

  • This program shows the menu items for all of the supported hardware systems, not just those currently configured. This lets you easily explore the menus to see what's available (though of course some of the items won't function without a connection to a layout)
  • Features that are still under development are often released in the demo program before they make it to one of the other programs. For example, the software for a new type of hardware often appears here first so that early-adopters can check it out. This is usually discussed in the release notes for each release.
